Templīs Aquaria is a sanctuary of love, nature, and soul-level connection. Whether you're planning a minimalist elopement or an intimate micro-wedding, our eco-sanctuary provides a stunning, serene backdrop shaped by the land, wildlife, and water.

Our Location

Located in the heart of Orocovis, just five minutes from the iconic El Chorro de Doña Juana, Templīs Aquaria spans three acres of wild riverfront where four sacred rivers converge. This lush oasis is home to free-roaming chickens, majestic peacocks, and Mrs. Waddles the duck, alongside vibrant tropical gardens, fruit trees, and ceremonial trails.

Ceremony Spaces

Newly constructed in 2025, our Riverfront Ceremony Deck overlooks the rainforest stream where, after heavy rains, a breathtaking 90-foot waterfall appears behind the altar.

Just a short walk away, our year-round 70-foot waterfall, known as Aquaela Falls, offers the perfect location for stunning photos and refreshing post-ceremony moments.

A Living Eco-Sanctuary

Templīs Aquaria is more than a venue—it's an experience. Fully off-grid and powered by solar and spring water, this living temple embraces you with the rainforest's natural rhythms, where every celebration unfolds in harmony with nature.

Unlike formal or rigid venues, our goal is to create a relaxed, supportive space where you feel held every step of the way.

Wild & Free Companions

Our grounds are shared with gentle free-range chickens, curious peacocks, and our beloved duck, Mrs. Waddles. Sometimes they wander into view, lending whimsical charm to your photos and authentic Puerto Rican character to your celebration.

Pure Mountain Elements

Spring water flows directly from the mountain, nourishing every sip and bloom. Solar energy guides our sanctuary's glow, and when the grid occasionally falters, candles flicker under starlight—creating even more intimate, romantic moments.

Quebrada Aquellos

Weather-Dependent Bonus: A quebrada is a type of waterfall that only flows after intense rains. This dramatic 90-foot waterfall appears behind the River Deck ceremony altar after intense rainfall, creating an absolutely breathtaking backdrop. While stunning when it flows, this waterfall is seasonal and not guaranteed for your ceremony date.

The Ceremony

The Riverfront Ceremony Deck

This deck can accommodate up to 50 guests and has electrical access and space for musicians, in a serene, elevated setting surrounded by rainforest.

As we mentioned above, the waterfall behind the altar is seasonal and appears unpredictably. Whether the cascade is rushing or the cliffside is still, the river always flows gently below, creating a powerful, grounding energy that supports every ceremony.

Templīs Aquaria is perched at a higher elevation than the coast, offering a cooler, breezier microclimate—a refreshing gift for outdoor celebrations. Nights can feel crisp and magical beneath the stars, while the rainforest's natural rhythm brings occasional rain showers.

Ideal Wedding Months: The driest months—April, May, June, and July—are ideal for weddings, with the lush landscape still vibrant and green. However, every season has its own unique beauty in the rainforest.

Meet Kalina - Your Personal Wedding Coordinator

I'm Kalina, your internationally certified wedding coordinator (QC Event School) and full-time venue coordinator. Unlike typical venues that hand you keys and wish you luck, I personally design and execute everything included in your contract.

What I Handle for You

Complete venue transformation with faux florals, bridal bouquet creation, day-of timeline coordination, night before rehearsal, catering setup, seating layout design, and full decor installation with your selected rentals. I'm your creative partner and logistical mastermind rolled into one.

What stays in your court:

External vendor hiring, signage, party favors, entertainment booking—basically anything not specified in our contract. This keeps your costs down while ensuring you get white-glove service on everything that matters most.

Your secret weapon:

24/7 access to me via text, email, or call—something no other venue or coordinator in Puerto Rico offers. I'm genuinely invested in your celebration and will move mountains to make your day flawless, grounded, and unforgettable.

We don't book weddings casually. We are a private eco-sanctuary and this land is not only home to the animal residents who make it magical, but to us as well. To protect the spirit of this land and the well-being of our animals, we only host couples that we feel are aligned and able to adapt to the variables of the rainforest and nature.

Only a small number of select couples are accepted each year.

FAQs

Is your venue wheelchair accessible? Can guests with limited mobility attend?

Templīs Aquaria is not accessible to guests with serious mobility limitations. The terrain includes steep, narrow paths, natural stone stairs, and uneven ground, and the venue is nestled in the mountains of a national rainforest.

While we wish we could accommodate everyone, the landscape is not compatible with wheelchairs, walkers, or guests who require physical assistance. Please be honest when completing your application, as this determines whether we can safely host you.

Do you offer tours or site visits before booking?

No. We do not offer tours or site visits prior to booking.

Templīs Aquaria is a sacred space, not a transactional venue. We host a very limited number of weddings per year, and the selection process begins with your application. If your application is accepted, your booking is secured with a deposit, and then we open the design portal to help you craft your vision from afar.

All the magic you need to feel the space is already here — in the rivers, the stories, the resonance. Trust the process.

What is the process for booking a wedding?

We accept bookings by invitation only, based on alignment and transparency. Here's how it works:

Step 1: Learn about our sanctuary
Step 2: Submit a quote using our app
Step 3: Apply using the detailed alignment questionnaire
Step 4: If accepted, your date is held with a 50% deposit
Step 5: Once booked, we'll open your full design portal and begin co-creating your event

What should we know about getting to the venue?

Templīs Aquaria is located deep in the mountains of Orocovis, Puerto Rico.

The final 20–30 minutes of your drive will be on a winding, one-lane mountain road. Please:

Drive slowly and honk around tight curves (locals do this!)
Use the southern approach for the most stable route
Carpool and arrive early to allow for road time and parking

All guests must park at the Divisoria parking lot and shuttle into the venue.

If you are sensitive to motion sickness, consider bringing Dramamine or ginger.

What should guests wear or bring to feel comfortable?

Templīs Aquaria is not a ballroom — it's a rainforest temple. Comfort and preparedness will help everyone feel more at home.

We recommend:

Flat or supportive shoes (no stilettos, wedges, or delicate heels)
Layers — evenings can be chilly in the mountains
Rain protection — umbrellas are provided, but we always honor the possibility of rain
A sense of adventure — this is an experience, not just an event

Are the animals part of the event? Should we expect them to interact with us?

We are honored to share the land with free-range peacocks, chickens, and a wild duck. These animals are part of the spirit of the sanctuary.

Please note:

The peacocks sleep in the Flamboyán tree above the reception tent
Around sunset, they walk the baluster to reach their perch — they must not be blocked or disturbed
If interrupted during their bedtime ritual, they will flee the property, and it has taken days to recover them in the past
Keep the gates closed at all times
Do not attempt to chase, pet, or photograph them up close

Guests who interact with respect will often be gifted with sightings.

How many weddings do you host each year?

We only accept a handful of weddings per year, and we only work with couples who resonate with the land, the mission, and the spiritual essence of Templīs Aquaria.

This limitation is not for exclusivity — it's for energy preservation, land protection, and to ensure deep care for every celebration we host.

What are the payment, cancellation, and refund policies?

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your date
Your final balance is due 30 days before the wedding
If you cancel, your deposit is not refunded
If you reschedule within 12 months and the new date is available, your deposit may be applied
We recommend wedding insurance in case of travel disruptions, illness, or severe weather

Templīs Aquaria is an off-grid sanctuary in the rainforest. We do everything in our power to support our couples — but nature, like love, does not offer guarantees.

What should we expect from the nature, wildlife, and soundscape?

At Templīs Aquaria, our sacred land is alive — and part of what makes your time here unforgettable is the symphony of sound and presence gifted by the rainforest and its residents.

You may hear:

Coquí frogs singing throughout the night in a mesmerizing chorus, unique to Puerto Rico
Owls, from soft "whoos" to the occasional haunting calls during mating season
Our roosters, who roam freely and begin crowing with the first light of dawn around 5 AM
Chickens and hens, chatting throughout the day as they forage and roam the grounds
Shiva, our regal peacock, who sleeps near the parking lot and lets out a distinctive call from time to time — a natural alert system that reminds us we're not alone
The river and waterfall, when flowing, create a soothing background that shifts with the rains

These elements are not noise to be silenced, but reminders that this land is alive. Guests seeking quiet, insulated hotel-style silence may find this setting surprisingly vibrant. Those who come with openness to nature's wild rhythm often find it transformative.

How does power work at an off-grid eco-sanctuary?

Templīs Aquaria is proudly off-grid and deeply attuned to the natural rhythms of the island. We've taken great care to design systems that preserve your comfort while honoring the land. Still, nature has its own timing — and we embrace it.

1. Power & Solar Backup

Our accommodations are powered by solar battery backup, which ensures ongoing service even during island-wide outages. That said, we encourage guests to conserve power during nighttime hours or in extended outages.

Best practices:

Charge phones and essentials during full sun hours
Avoid high-drain devices like blow dryers, space heaters, or curling irons during outages
Turn off lights and unplug electronics when not in use
The stove is gas-powered and unaffected by outages

2. Ceremony & Reception Areas

The ceremony and reception areas are powered by the main Puerto Rican electrical grid. Due to high power demands, they are not solar-backed. If the grid goes down, we've planned ahead:

A battery-powered speaker system (12-hour capacity) and two wireless battery mics will be ready for use
Candles will be preset on tables to maintain a warm and romantic ambiance
Team support ensure your event continues with grace, even in the dark

3. Spring Water System

Our entire venue runs on natural spring water, shared respectfully with nearby homes. It's one of the most stable systems on the property, having had only one minor outage in five years (from a fallen branch during a storm).

All water used returns to the earth — so we ask that guests only use the eco-friendly soaps, shampoos, and detergents provided

What should we know about parking and accessibility?

Parking Options:

Elopement & Small Ceremonies (Nature's Vow, Vows & Views): Limited parking is available inside the venue for intimate celebrations
Larger Celebrations (All other packages): Guests must park on the street or at Divisoria and will be shuttled to the venue

Walking Requirements:

All guests must walk down a hill (approximately 100 feet) to reach the reception area
Additional stairs lead from the reception area to the ceremony deck
Please consider this when planning your guest list and inform guests to wear appropriate footwear

We're happy to assist elderly guests or those who need extra support navigating the terrain.

How do the on-site accommodations work?

Our accommodations consist of two separate units in the same building. Here's what you need to know:

Available for Guests:

The downstairs unit is exclusively available for wedding guests and couples
This space is completely private and designed for your comfort and relaxation

Owner Presence:

Dominick and Kalina (the venue owners) live in the upstairs unit, which also serves as storage for venue equipment
We remain on-site 24/7 to assist with any emergency or last-minute needs
This ensures immediate support, which is essential for an off-grid venue experience

Having the owners on-site means you'll have instant access to help, local knowledge, and peace of mind throughout your stay.
