I am a beginner herbalist and can give a good suggestion. The herb Yellow Dock/Broadleaf dock can be extraordinarily beneficial for helping your body absorb the iron you already consume naturally. I make a syrup by simmering the dock roots with blackstrap molasses (which has tons of iron), and take that near my periods. I also will take if I ever get pregnant again. It has the added benefit of being a liver detoxifier, as well as a digestive aid. It will not make you constipated – quite the opposite! lol
I would go online and check to see if there is a type that grows in your area. If it doesn’t, you can order online. There are other herbs that grow in desert type areas that I’m less familiar with, but I can find that info if you like.
